Program Types
As part of the IEP process, the following are some, but not all of the continuum of services available to students with disabilities.
Center-based Services
- Preschool students with special needs and peer models participate in center-based classrooms four days per week for our AM students and five days a week for our PM students
- Classes can have up to 16 children and are staffed by an Early Childhood Intervention Specialist and a minimum of one Paraprofessional.
- Therapists are assigned to classrooms as prescribed by the Individualized Education Programs of the special needs students.
Itinerant Services
- Services are provided at their daycare, private preschool, or other setting as long as it is within district boundaries by a traveling itinerant Intervention Specialist.
- Goals, objectives and support provided are determined and detailed in the child's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Speech Class Services

This program meets for one and a half hours, one time per week at the DCS Preschool.

Led by a speech pathologist and an intervention specialist, the small class size allows for activities that target various language processes.
Therapy Services

Services are provided at the DCS Preschool or other location determined and detailed in the child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
